There’s no recorded proof that Groucho Marx ever said this, but....
Groucho was interviewing a woman who had 12 kids. When asked why so many, she replied, “Well, I love my husband.” To which Groucho allegedly replied, “Lady, I love my cigar, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.”

I am going to pretend this quote is true because I want to live in a reality where this happened.

Bham fist bump. The pollen has been so bad, this morning I etched the back of the wife’s Odyssey with a giant Honda logo with the words VTEC and YO on either side. She made me clean the back glass before we left today. I was hoping she wouldn't notice.

My dad is the middle of 11 kids. At least these kids all get to ride in the van, my dad and a couple of his brothers had to ride in the trunk.

Mom had eight brothers and sisters. Dad had 14, and is the middle child.
Family reunions with us are epic.

Because parenting has that effect

Parenting, sure. Can drive one bonkers. But why do so many Oppos opine that it’s so much more difficult or crazy-making with daughters, or multiple daughters? That’s my real question. I’ve seen that opinion so many times on here and I’m legit wondering why.

The drama ... dear God the drama. My girls were a dream until they hit around 16, then things went off the rails for a couple years.

IIRC Brian only has daughters, can’t speak for chevyfan. And we both know why.

Heh. Any of them Oppos-in-the-making?
And I guess my mom and dad got off light... there’s a significant age difference (<10 years, though) between me and my sister, so we hit the teen rebellion years at different times. Luckily, neither of us (nor our brother) were particularly rebellious.
I’m just glad dad always embraced his tomboy youngest and his prim and proper eldest truly equally. :)

Do we? (normally I’m up on the wink wink nudge nudge, but this time, I’m really not).
I knew that about Brian, don’t/didn’t know chevy’s sitch. And, though I asked both of them why, I wasn’t really referring to them in my comment about other Oppos talking about their daughters/prospective daughters as crazy-making; they just happened to be the two who spoke of daughters right now. But it did remind me of how I’ve seen other fathers on here speak of their daughters with a sense of dread sometimes, and it makes me really sad.
Also... I’m glad you replied to me... it reminded me that I need to send you an email, so please check your inbox shortly. :)

No, we have a son, too. He’s 17 months older than the girls so in a lot of ways they were more like raising quads, haha.

Estrogen overload. To be fair I couldn’t even deal with six boys either, let alone six kids at all. I'd most likely only want two kids.

Wait, are your girls triplets? Sheesh! Diaper duty must've been nonstop when they were babies. Mad props.
